As most people close to me know, I am truly an artist at heart. On the surface, I am a web application developer with an MBA. I’ve been into Web development for several now.
…but I’ve been an artist for over 21 years…
I can clearly remember the day I decided I was going to be an artist…and I was only 7 years old. I’ve never really wavered from this passion of mine, even if some years produced more drawings and paintings than others. I also may have never tried to sell my art, but I don’t care.
That’s not what makes an artist. It’s my passion to draw, the happiness it brings to me and possibly to others, and the creativity involved that make me an artist. It’s a state of mind.
The purpose of this site is to store and display all of my “dead-tree” art such as drawings, paintings, sketch journal pages, art and design class assignments, and so on. I may even post some photography from time to time. I have to admit that a large motivation for me to keep this portfolio up to date, as well as continue to post old work, is to provide a way for me to peruse past work without getting my fingers covered in charcoal and pencil as I sift through old portfolios. And I have plenty of those, going as far back as drawings I’ve saved since I was about 8 years old (which incidentally are beginning to look very tired and yellowed).
So, this project will develop over time. I have countless pieces that I’ve created over the last twenty plus years of my life, both finished and unfinished, that I will have to take photos of in order to display them here. So, please bear with me if I go without posting anything for a few days or weeks. It will take a lot of time just converting everything to a digital format.
Please feel free to leave comments!
