Hello, Berta-Studio!

I know I haven’t been posting much art lately. Last month I was temporarily consumed with finishing the year-end books and financial statements for my family’s business. Excuses, excuses… I know.

Anyways, a couple of weekends ago I finished setting up my first-ever drawing studio in the second bedroom of my apartment. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for longer than I can remember! I can’t believe I finally have my own space, other than the dining room table, to work and be creative in!

It also means I don’t have to have my laptop (a.k.a. Berta-Lappy) constantly living in the kitchen area anymore. This is advantageous because there is now less temptation to eat while working, therefore less food spillage on the laptop. And as most of my friends and family know, I am a notorious klutz. See? By spending money, I’m saving money!

Speaking of money, here’s what I invested in for the new Berta-Studio (thanks to the IRS and its speedy return of my taxes). Total spendage was about $410…

The walls are still bare, so I also plan on hanging up some of my art as well as some other pieces that have inspired me at some point. I plan on using this wire system, which is really meant to be a curtain rod, and these clips to hang everything up with. No more thumbtacks and nail holes all over the place! Just 6 rather large screw holes…

I’ll post some photos when I finally get around to buying some new batteries for my digital camera.
